Royal-Hamilius will welcome Les Galeries Lafayette

It’s official. The major French retailer has chosen to open in Luxembourg, within the Royal-Hamilius complex. The rumour had been circulating for a few weeks and was confirmed today at a press conference held by CODIC in the presence of the CEO and the family heirs of Galeries Lafayette.

In Luxembourg, no location could have been better suited to welcoming this historic department store chain before the construction of Royal-Hamilius. Indeed, an iconic, well-located building with a sufficiently large retail area was needed. Royal-Hamilius meets all these criteria: it is designed by the famous architect Norman Foster, located in the heart of the city between Boulevard Royal and place de la Poste, and offers 9000 m2 of space.

For Nicolas Houzé, director of Galeries, which embodies a certain French art of living, the department store will know how to charm Luxembourgers. «This is a country where our fashion expertise is highly appreciated by local customers as well as the 3,5 million international visitors, particularly those travelling on business». He is also counting on the impact of Brexit and the influx of young customers with strong purchasing power.

Following Delhaize and FNAC, Les Galeries Lafayette completes Royal-Hamilius’s retail offering in the best possible way. Thus offering dozens of major brands of clothing, leather goods, jewellery, beauty products and home decor in one single space. Above Galeries Lafayette, levels 6 and 7 of the building will house an impressive sky restaurant as well as a hanging garden. The retail units located at the foot of the residences will house high-end boutiques. Access to the complex will be made easier thanks to the 600 parking spaces and the tram running nearby.

All these elements combined will offer Royal-Hamilius residents an exceptional everyday life, and only a privileged few will benefit, as the residential part of the project offers just 73 luxury apartments. From the 36m2 studio to the 257m2 duplex penthouse, all the homes will be fitted out in styles proposed by interior designer NJOY. Generous ceiling heights, fine materials, large openings letting in the light: all assets that guarantee the success of the Royal-Hamilius development. And this is proving true: within a few months of marketing these apartments, entrusted on a semi-exclusive basis to Unicorn, 40% have been reserved. If you would like an exclusive presentation of this flagship development, do not delay in contacting Unicorn on 26 54 17 17.
