Elie Saab: haute couture at home
We knew Elie Saab for his sought-after luxury creations. For the designer, whose attachment to architecture, design, craftsmanship of the highest quality and fine materials is well known, entering the world of the home is thus a logical step in the development of his artistic vision.
"By developing real estate projects, we are working to translate my personal style into the fields of architecture and lifestyle products, says the couturier in a press release. Creating a collection of furniture and home accessories thus completes this vision." He adds: "This first collection reflects the heritage of Elie Saab’s signature. Its distinctive style is both contemporary and timeless."
Italian architect and designer Carlo Colombo thus set out to translate the fashion designer’s vision in creating this first line of furniture, manufactured 100% in Italy. "We discussed his sources of inspiration, his creative process and the way he chooses his shapes, colors and materials", recounts Carlo Colombo.
Their discussions thus gave rise to a collection with daytime and nighttime versions, designed to fit into every room of the home. "(...) Everything unfolded in a very linear way, which gave me the freedom to translate the House’s codes into new works of art, continues the architect and designer. The result is therefore a collection with a unique quality: that of being at once recognizable, distinct and immediately identifiable with Elie Saab. A collection whose story unfolds through the words that emerge from observing all its details."
"Spectacular elegance" is the guiding principle of this collection’s identity. A line in which we find the colors dear to the designer, cream tones and shades of pastel gray, combined with metal, marble and refined wood species.
Designed in a spirit of total harmony and complementarity, the Élie Saab Maison line is intended to furnish a turnkey space, from dining rooms to living rooms and bedrooms. The Night collection includes three bed models, one bedside table model and, the couturier’s pride, a valet stand equipped with mirrors and storage. The Day collection offers five sofa models, five models of chairs, armchairs and stools, two dining tables, four side tables, two console tables and a storage unit. These offerings are complemented by a range of lighting, rugs, cushions and accessories. Sensual and tactile, the materials likewise draw inspiration from the spirit of haute couture. Precious woods, lacquered or matte macassar ebony, sycamore maple and sucupira, warm up Calacatta marble and Patagonia granite with their subtle chromatic nuances. The upholstery fabrics, specially made in Italy for this collection, come in monogrammed fabric, velvet and leathers.
Elie Saab Maison in the fashion capitals
The "Elie Saab Maison" brand, developed in partnership with Corporate Brand Maison, will be available in the second half of 2020. Other "Elie Saab Maison" single-brand boutiques are expected to open soon, in Beirut, Doha, Dubaï, by the end of 2020, Marco Bizzozero, the CEO of Corporate Brand Maison, is already announcing, as well as in Paris and Moscow, fashion capitals. Note that collectors and art lovers will also be offered exclusive limited-edition pieces there.
